One school — two programmes: Main and Light

The first part of the day is the same on both programmes — the academic core of two educational standards: the Russian one (FGOS) and the British one, aligned with Cambridge standards; children study English in a group at their level.

Light ends at 14:00: it is the academic foundation — the part that is hardest to make up later.

The Main programme continues until 17:00 and includes: sport of choice, creative and project workshops, academic and advanced English, a reflection on the day. English here is a language of learning, not just a subject: the child gradually adapts to full learning in English.

Main programme · full day · 394 700 ฿ / year

Lessons 8:45–16:30 — arrive from 8:00, home by 17:00.

We combine two educational standards: Russian (based on FGOS) and the international British Curriculum.

A full school day: academic foundation in the morning, then sport of choice, creative and project workshops and academic English. Activities of choice build awareness and motivation. And all day — developing thinking and emotional intelligence.

Four meals a day — a healthy menu, our own kitchen.

Light · the academic core · 299 000 ฿ / year

Lessons 8:45–14:00 — arrive from 8:00, home by 14:10.

The Russian curriculum + advanced English on the British programme.

Light is a shorter programme: the same school morning, the same teachers and the same strong academic foundation — but without the last part of the day. A format for families for whom easing the budget matters.

Three meals a day — a healthy menu, our own kitchen. The school shuttle is not available.

The school week

The order of lessons is shown schematically, to see what the week consists of. A class timetable is issued at the start of the year; what a particular class's week looks like — on the Class timetable page. Lessons are 50 minutes. English and English Literature are in groups by level.

How to choose a programme — common questions from families

Who is the Main programme for?

Most families — it is the full day familiar from private schools: a dense academic morning and an afternoon where knowledge is reinforced through activity — subjects in English, sport and workshops. The child masters subjects deeply in Russian and then reinforces the material in English from another angle and through activity. This way the child understands the subject deeply, and English gradually becomes a full second language.

If the Main programme fits your budget — it gives the child the most.

The Main programme lets a child continue after primary school either in a Russian-language school or in an English-language one on the British system — all paths stay open.

Who is Light for?

Families for whom easing the budget matters, and those whose children have a busy programme after school — sports clubs, studios, sport. The school morning is the same; after 14:00 the child is at home. We recommend physical activity after school.

The route to an English-language school is not closed with Light, but the skill of learning in English comes largely from the afternoon. Outside school it is built not through conversation practice but through study: reading and analysing texts, subject tasks, academically oriented classes.

Assessment in school documents under the international school licence is in English — a child on Light may get grades there that are lower than their real level. That is why we do not recommend Light in Year 6, the final year of primary school.

Important: the school shuttle is not available on the Light programme.

What is academic English?

It is English as a language of study, not just of communication: maths and science are taught in it, as well as electives — activities of choice, including creative project workshops. In workshops a child needs English for the task: to agree with the team, explain an idea, make what was planned. That is how a reason to speak appears.

Reading, writing and reasoning in English about subject material is a skill we develop step by step, rather than leaving it to "they will get used to it". First we work through a topic in Russian — the child understands it. Then we return to it in English — not repeating it one-to-one, but reinforcing it in another form: discussions, problems, experiments. The child understands the subject deeply and builds English into a full second language, gradually adapting to learning in English.

Why strong Russian in an international school?

Russian for us is not a "home" language but the language a child thinks and reasons in: maths and a first acquaintance with science are taught in it. Thinking in the native language is the foundation English is then built on.

The programme is designed so that skills gradually transfer from language to language: a topic understood in Russian does not have to be learned again — the child takes familiar content and adds an English layer. We do not trade one language for the other but develop both — a more deeply understood subject and metalinguistic awareness: the ability to see how languages themselves work.

And there is a layer deeper than study: in the native language a child can truly talk about feelings, wishes and doubts, about quarrels and friendship — with the curator or another child — and so gains inner support for the future. If something worries them, the child can name it in precise words and be understood.

Is English weaker on Light?

Yes, on Light English is an advanced foreign language. On the Main programme it becomes the second language of a bilingual child. The English core is the same: four hours a week in a group by level, and on Light it is complete — grammar, reading and writing, vocabulary. On the Main programme there is more English, and the difference is not only in hours.

The two extra hours are live speaking practice: conversation speeds up. Maths and science in English teach the child to learn in the language — to read, reason and solve subject problems. Electives give motivation: the child acts and speaks in English in what interests them — and sees for themselves why learning matters to them.

Almost all homework on both programmes is done at school, every day. The difference is in English: on Light part of its reinforcement moves to the family. The school says exactly what to do and provides materials — the family needs to keep it regular; parents do not have to teach or correct.

Does Light have Soft Skills?

Yes. The Soft Skills (PSHE) course runs on both programmes, two hours a week, in Russian; PSHE is what the British programme calls the subject on personal and social development. It is taught by the class curator — the adult who is with the children every day. Topics by age: emotions, friendship and conflict, honesty and responsibility, safety in life and online, rules of class life. The difference is in practice: in the Main programme afternoon the child applies it — chooses an activity and is responsible for the choice, and the day closes with a reflection.

What documents does the child receive?

A child leaves primary school with international school documents in English: a Certificate of Graduation — numbered, verifiable by QR code — and a transcript with grades (Academic Transcript). The documents are the same on both programmes. With them the child continues in an international school.

Does a child on Light lose the Russian programme?

No — the Russian programme on Light and Main is the same: the same subjects, the same hours, the same teachers. Light has a shorter day, not a shorter morning.

Russian assessment is available on both programmes: the child covers the Russian-language programme to the extent the Russian standard requires, and we run the assessment through an accredited partner school in Russia. The assessment itself takes place at Kinderville Nova, supervised by our staff — on the partner school's schedule. The partner school issues grades and state-standard documents; the form of education is family education.

It is a separate service: 17 000 ฿ a year (partner-school fee and paperwork). The family decides by 1 March, and if you move to Russia the child continues from their own grade.

Can a child move from Light to Main?

Yes, but not at any moment, and it will require individual adaptation. The school morning is shared, but the afternoon has its own programme — some material will need catching up. The earlier the move, the easier.

Which programme suits your child?

We will help you choose at a consultation: we will discuss your child's preparation and your family's route. If it is Light — we will say so.
